Local Area Information

It is truly a phenomenal place. Anyone enjoying their morning coffee and a bowl of freshly picked fruit will be delighted by the beautifully maintained subtropical garden with its many sea views and vistas of the nearby Dalmatian islands. The surrounding hills are covered with pine groves, vineyards, olive trees and fig trees. The village of Borak, home to excellent restaurants serving a wide range of fish and other Dalmatian dishes, lies within a 10-minute walk or a short kayak ride (kayaks available to rent). Further afield is the charming small harbour of Trstenik, which is perfect for a stroll, a bike ride or a short drive to enjoy superb coffee and pancakes.

The wider area offers many opportunities to take trips to the surrounding islands of Korčula, Mljet and Lastovo, all of which are easily accessible within an hour by ferry or taxi. There are also trips to mainland destinations such as the historic towns of Dubrovnik and Ston.

Situated in the heart of the renowned Dingač wine region, the area is also a paradise for wine lovers. Visitors can purchase high-quality barrel or bottled wines at very reasonable prices. Those who enjoy fresh seafood can visit local fish restaurants or prepare fresh fish and octopus on the outdoor grill or cook freshly harvested mussels – the owner can arrange the ingredients and preparation.
